Live Well Wednesday

This week I have re-committed myself to getting back to the healthy lifestyle, and I'm so glad I came across , "Live Well Wednesday"!

My first day heading back to the right path was only yesterday. I started the day working out with my dear hubby. We went to the gym and played raquetball, rode the recumbant bikes and walked ( he jogged) on the treadmills. And I told myself no soda! I had been doing well with that, but alas, went back to drinking soda daily.
I believe yesterday was a good start, now I need to get in some exercise today, and the day is half over.
Hope you are all living well!

Psalm 116:12

"What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?"

The Lord has done many wonderful things for me! The greatest being that He lived, died on a cruel cross, and rose again from the dead that I might have life! There is nothing I could ever do even in a million years for Jesus that could compare to that!
Then even after Jesus did that for me, He still loved me while I was a sinner. He was always there while I called out for Him to become real in my life.
After sitting down and thinking on this verse, I have come to understand what Jesus wants me to render:

My will, that His will be done in my life. Matthew 6:10 Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

My life. Dying to myself, allowing Him to purge my sins so that I may be a clean and useable.
II Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Offer Him Praises and Thanksgiving, in all things He is worthy of Praise! Psalm 147:1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Service, to be the witness He has called me to be. Acts 22:15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

My complete love and adoration for a God that is so Merciful, Gracious and Loving! Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might.

God Bless you as you walk in the likeness of Jesus!

Whole Duty of Man

Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

When I was studying this I decided to look up some of the words in the dictionary.

conclusion: bring to a close

whole: entire

fear: 1) to regard with awe

regard: respect or admire; observe carefully

awe: feeling of wonder and fear

fear: 2) uneasiness or concern

duty: that required by custom, law, etc. any task assigned or required by one's works

So as I worked in the definitions, this is what I came up with:

Let us hear and bring to a close the entire matter: respect and observe carefully, with a feeling of wonder; God, and keep his commandments for this is the entire task required of man.

By bringing to a close the entire matter shows that there is no room for dispute, fact is being stated that we are to fear God and obey Him.

In Matthew 22:37 -38, Jesus is answering the question, which is the great commandment in the law?
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all the mind. This is the first and great commandment."

In Luke 10:27-28 a lawyer has asked Jesus how he may inherit eternal life and Jesus asked the lawyer how he has interpreted the law. "And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbor as thyself."
And Jesus said unto him, "Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live."

If you are seeking a purpose for your life, or seeking the answer to "Why am I here?", it is simply to love God with our whole being and obey Him. In return you shall have eternal life.

I hope you were able to glean something good from my personal study. I don't want to just read my bible to read it, but I truly want to grasp all that God has for me in His word and share it with others.

God Bless You as you walk in His likeness.

Friday's Frankly Speaking...

I am a born again, holy ghost filled Christian. This does NOT make me perfect, especially to man. God is however, working on me daily. The past few months I have felt His chisel working overtime on me! As each year comes and goes, new situations (at least in my life) arise, and I'm not sure how to get through it, thankfully ( at least in hind sight) God shows me the right path.

Correction is not always easy to bear. I have seen many people being corrected, chastised of God through the Pastor (who is the one God has set over us) and they leave. Why then were they coming to church? To learn how to get along with others? How to be wealthy? Just to socialize? Isn't the purpose of going to church and listening to the Preacher to be directed, guided and loved by God? To learn how to live for God on a daily basis and know what God wants for our lives? I know that is why I go to church!

We must have a humble, willing and obedient heart. Willing to look honestly at ourselves, and obediently follow Gods will. At times to get through the chastisement/correction of God, I need to earnestly pray and read His word to get to the place God wants me to be. I cannot allow my emotions or pride to rule. I use to live that way and I was miserable. Thank God for His saving grace and His loving mercy that has changed me. God loves me unconditionally and has given me so much more than I am worthy of.

Therefore brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:12-13 KJV
